I can say that without a doubt seeing has I just tried the demo myself
But for me personally, Motorstorm 2 is still my choice. Unless Motorstorm 2 is screwed up somehow, that's my number 1
Luckily I have money for both if I want. But if I could only choose one, it would be Motorstorm 2.
But I say to you all, give PURE a shot. It is well worth it and fun.
I admit there is some fun to be had here. But this is no Motorstorm.
If I had money for only one I'd pick Motorstorm 2 over this. Unless they mess up MS2 mega badly, Motorstorm is the first choice for me.
That's not to say PURE isn't fun. Just secondary (my opinion, not fact)

There are key differences
1-Motorstorm's environments are much more destructible and alive than Pure's. Just look at both games preview footage to see that.
2-Motorstorm incorporates MANY vehicles. Whereas Pure only incorporates ATV.
3-Pure is about racing and tricks. Motorstorm is about racing and roughing up your opponents.
